Bullet Point: Castle 701 Driven

WRITER: David Amann
DIRECTOR: Rob Bowman
  • Kate running to the burning car! She really tried to get to that burning car to see if Castle was really there. In her wedding dress.
  • Almost the whole cold open was released in three separate sneak peeks, including the extended one. And people reacted why Beckett immediately went into cop mode when the latter was released. I think it's because she's confident that Castle is alive and that they will find him.
  • Beckett tackling the junkyard machine operator. New type of Beckett: Linebacker Beckett.
  • Kate interrogating the operator - scary. Seriously! She nearly broke the man's thumb when he doesn't answer and she threatened that he has nine more (to break)! I don't think that's even Badass Beckett! Really scary!!
  • Oi vey! Vinny Cardano from 504 Murder, He Wrote is back! What he told Beckett and Ryan was very useful.
  • Someone made a $10k drop at some dumpster, from Vinny's tip. When Tory, the fabulous IT gal, tapped into it, they found out that it was Castle who made the drop - hours after the supposed abduction took place.
  • Two months passed since the abduction. Castle was found in a sky blue dinghy floating in the middle of the Atlantic Ocean.
  • In those two months, Kate opened up the murder board in her apartment. It was probably the one thing that she thought she'd never use again after Senator Bracken was imprisoned.
  • Kate calling possibly almost every hotel, every airport, every place that Castle had been in during those two months.
  • Fan theory was that Castle will have amnesia after he was found. It...kind of....played a part. But my theory was that he was drugged that's why he only remembers being sidelined by the Escalade on their wedding day and waking up in the hospital.
  • I saw a comment on YouTube that it was hypocritical of Beckett to demand Castle for answers for the two months he doesn't remember. The psych evaluator said that it could be a possibility that he is just pretending not to remember. I quite agree. In 401 Rise, Kate pretended not to remember the day of her shooting, the day when Castle told her he loves her. But she did and wasn't ready to tell him yet because she was healing. Only on 419 47 Seconds did Castle discover, inadvertently, she knew, all the time. So it is not right of Kate to demand answers from Castle if he is not ready.
  • Whilst it may be true that he simply chose not to tell, it can also be true that he doesn't remember, if he was drugged.
  • If he was drugged, it could be the same drug that was used in 616 Room 147 when their three suspects didn't remember anything from the previous two weeks (time of the case). It could also be the zombie drug from 422 Undead Again.
  • Castle was exposed to the dengue virus. Okay this is where I think it was poorly researched. Dengue is a fatal illness, especially when left untreated. A person can die because of hemorrhaging on the worst cases. If Castle was exposed to the virus and he caught it and was alone somewhere, he could have died without proper medical attention. If not, then his abductor/s took care of him.
  • There's an unreleased Derrick Storm book called Tropical Storm but Castle threw it away because he thought it was not good. But his research stuck with him and gave him the fear of tsunamis. When Beckett pointed out that the Hamptons house was near the beach, he told her he chose the inland side.
  • Clues thus far: a key with the number 38 sewn into the lining of his pants and the watch.
  • The team forgot the scene of the crime evidence: there were at least three men and there were heel tracks, the kind of tracks when you get dragged unconsciously.
  • Kate doesn't trust him 100% anymore. But I think she still believes in him and that she will never really stop. That's true love.
  • Whilst she's lost some of her trust in him, I don't think they will break up. As Amann and AWM said in interviews, it will only make them stronger. Again, it will be hypocritical of Kate not to be there for Castle when he was with her throughout her ordeal with Senator Bracken.
  • It's nice to see Kate wearing normal shoes. I mean, no heels. Also, no more extensions, although in the opening scene, before the two months passed, Stana was still wearing shorter extensions. Then gone when they found Castle.
  • The scene when Kate discovers that Castle made the drop was brilliantly acted. Stana is awesome! You can see the plethora of emotions that Beckett was feeling right at that moment. Stana deserves awards just for this episode alone.
  • When Stana cries, everybody cries. Always.
  • More questions will be answered next week in 702 Montreal. Then it will be put on hold until later in the season. By then, Castle and Beckett will be married.
I will be posting screencaps later. I will still edit it for colour vibrancy purposes.

Overall, I think the episode is awesome. Bowman, again, with his lighting and his vision every time he directs.
